RYC Pork Roast Another Financial Success!

Even though ticket sales were down this year over previous years, it was the live¬†auction¬†that proved to be the big income generator for the Rondeau Yacht Club’s annual Pork Roast.

A San Francisco, California, tour including accommodations, the use of a Porsche, sports tickets and a winery tour was a hugely popular item in the live auction. In fact, donor Keith Taylor offered TWO of the trips to the two who were bidding on it. So, over $6,200 was raised from that item alone!

A grand total of $15,300 was raised at the event.

Other live auction items were a large iron outdoor fire pit, a Rondeau painting, Stratford Festival theatre tickets and a framed print of Lake Erie. RYC Commodore Dave Trinka also offered up his band to play at your home or cottage and he strummed his guitar while walking among the crowd to help increase the bidding.

Auctioneers Shawn Britton and Rob van Deel Piepers did an amazing job as usual to keep the bidding fun!

A full silent auction was also set up inside the yacht club house and proved to very popular with high bids on many amazing items.

Many thanks to all the organizers, including the RYC members young and old, and donors to this annual event. See you next year!

Rob van Deel Piepers rocked as one of the auctioneers. Or should we say “cheerleaders”?!
