Rondeau Yacht Club’s Annual Pig Roast is August 4th

You always know it’s time for the Rondeau Yacht Club’s annual pig roast when you see Petunia in the park! Petunia is the name of the big pink piggy who graces the entrance of the yacht club whenever it is time to raise some money.

But did you know she has a past?

She was built by RCA member Brian French and his brother for Angus McGarvah’s annual Memorial Day Pig Roast at his cottage about 15 years ago. ¬†When Angus stopped doing the pig roast, they donated Petunia to the RYC. She languished under the club’s back deck for many years but was lovingly restored about 3 years ago, and she’s been gracing the event ever since!

There is live music, a live and silent auction and a full buffet style pork dinner. Adult tickets are $22 and can be bought at the Yacht Club. Kids under 12 are $10. Or call (519) 674-3830.
