New Lower Speed Limit on Lakeshore Near Campground

In January, Mr Post lowered the speed limit on the section of Lakeshore Road between the traffic circle and Bowman Ave.  The “posted” speed limit is now 20 km/h (apx 12 mph).  That is very slow.  But that speed limit is supported by provincial legislation <http://www.canlii.org/en/on/laws/regu/rro-1990-reg-620/latest/rro-1990-reg-620.html>  and in fact is the recommended speed limit for areas in provincial parks with heavy pedestrian & bicycle traffic. A child on a bike was struck along there last summer.   However cottagers be warned — expect lots of enforcement along that section from now on.  And please realize that going only 35 km/h will get you three demerit points.  Going 50 km/h will get you a big fine.  And going 70 km/h will get your vehicle impounded.  So please slow down!
