Cottagers Come Alive on May 2-4 Weekend

The long weekend in May is typically the weekend we cottagers crank open the windows, brush off the cobwebs and turn on the water. At least the Canadian ones anyways. Those that had previously completed the ritual opening of the cottage were able to enjoy other pleasures during this past May 2-4. ┬áSuch as having friends in, catching up, and hanging out. The water was very warm and there were many swimmers seen wading about in the sandy waters. I love when the Bayview Market opens and you can savour the first lick of their huge ice cream cones, when what you really came for was bread and milk. It’s so nice to see familiar faces while biking up to Rondeau Joes to grab a bite after you discover your barbecue is out of propane – again. ┬áThe debut of the cottage season also means suffering through blisters after that first rollerblade around the park. But we love it. We are Rondeau cottagers.

So, what did you do to celebrate the opening of the season?
