Support Our Fight
The leases on Rondeau’s 283 cottages all expire at the end of 2017. The Rondeau Cottagers Association, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, former Liberal MPP Pat Hoy, and current PC MPP Rick Nicholls have all been lobbying for a lease extension for decades. Help us fight this injustice by sending funds to the Rondeau Cottagers Association.

This is what we have to say….
Now let’s see what you have to say!
The window for public comments on the 2038 Lease Extension Proposal Cottage Phase-Out Plan has expired. It is safe to say that Mr Barton Feilders has been overwhelmed with emails, letters, faxes, and phone calls in support of a fair and reasonable long-term lease extension. To everyone who voiced their support — Thank You on behalf of RCA President Dr David Colby and your entire Executive.
So what’s next? We anticipate that Mr Feilders will have a report on his comments received within two weeks. (As mentioned, we expect it will confirm overwhelming support for keeping cottages in Rondeau under fair & reasonable terms.) The Minister of Natural Resources will take Mr Feilders’ findings into consideration to turn the “proposed” policy into the “final” policy. The RCA expects to hear back from Minister Jeffrey by mid-December. As soon as we know anything we’ll share it with you.
In the meantime, here’s a fun “project idea” for everyone who loves Rondeau. How about recording your own short video telling the world what Rondeau means to you.
Upload it to YouTube and send us the link (with your clear permission to re-post it) and we’ll include it here on the RCA Website for all our visitors to see. You don’t have to actually be in the park when you record it; be creative and have fun!
Parks are for people, too!
